PODCAST EXCERPT Along California’s Pacific coast is Carmel by the Sea, 125 miles south of San Francisco. Just a few blocks from the water is Rio Avenue, a narrow street with less than twenty houses. Half way down the block sits a rancher on a large lot where Sonia Herok-Stone lived with her young daughter Sasha. Sonia was slim with stunning, her bangs swept to the side emphasized her long lashes and dark eyes. Twenty-six-year-old Michael Glazebrook had just moved in across the street, he was newly married, going to college and working as a carpenter. Sonia never met him and likely wasn’t aware the Michael had been watching her. On the morning of October 15, 1981 Sonia’s four- year-old daughter went to school and Sonia headed out to run errands. Michael gained entry into Sonia’s home and waited for her to return. VICTIM: SONIA HEROK-STONE - UPDATED A BLUE JEAN KIND OF DAY In 1981 Sonia was brutally murdered at the age of 30. Her neighbour Michael went on trial for her murder but the jury was hung. Investigators waited almost 40 years to reopen her cold case. This time, DNA convicted Michael!
