PODCAST EXCERPT Steven Caruso lived in Medford, Massachusetts. He wore sweaters that hung off his angled shoulders in a look of little confidence. For six years he regularly visited Bickford's restaurant two to three times a day. He'd enjoy a short conversation with the staff but his comments weren't always welcome. Sandra "Sandy" Berfield worked at Bickford's. At the restaurant Steven turned his unwanted attention towards Sandy and requested to be seated in her section. In August 1998 Sandy drove her car to work. Steven took it upon himself to wash her car in the parking lot. Afterwards he asked her to go the movies with him. Sandy politely declined. Steven was furious. Sandy was afraid of what Steven might do. Two days later the tires on Sandy's car were mysteriously slashed.
