PODCAST EXCERPT Gary had an IQ of 140 which was high considering the average IQ is 100. By age 20 he was serving time for armed robbery. When Gary was paroled he proposed to Dorothy. Three and-a-half years in to their marriage Gary went on a two week crime spree and stole guns from a National Guard Armoury. He was caught and put in jail. While waiting for trial he escaped. Broke and desperate he robbed a grocery store. He didn't make it far before he was caught and thrown back in jail. Gary was released on parole after serving only five years. Ten months later he was arrested for passing a bad cheque. At his trial Gary was handed a sentence of 20 years. Prison guard Jim Stiner put handcuffs on Gary and the two climbed in to a prison truck. Gary managed to overpower him and take hold of his .38 calibre gun.
