With her death something changed in Scott, he became sad and sullen, began wearing black clothing, painted his nails black and wore black lipstick. Scott's artwork and writings descended down an even darker path, perhaps move violent than anyone knew. One of his drawings was a male in a long coat with a knife and the caption "Guns don't kill people. I kill people". Scott began taking walks through the canyon woods and and down to the community mailboxes. Around the same time his neighbour John picked up his mail and noticed that the envelope with this credit card statement looked like it had been mutilated. On Saturday morning Scott hiked through the bush and arrived at the front door of Daniel and Pamela's mobile home. Did he knock or did he ring the bell?
