PODCAST EXCERPT Mike was the lead singer in a local band and this year's Halloween party was going to be bigger and better than ever. Chelsea loved parties and was a fan of Mike's. She spent three weeks on her costume as Poison Ivy, a character in the Batman movie who kills her victims with a kiss. She sewed leaves on to a green vest, paired it with black leotards, a purple wig and a jug of wine. The turnout was much larger than Mike expected, this year there was a thousand people. Laura was ready to go home but couldn't find Chelsea, so she gave her bag, purse and phone to a mutual friend of theirs Becky who tried to get her friend's things to her, but a forty-foot bonfire had just lit up the night sky and the crowd was growing and she couldn't get past them to find Chelsea. Chelsea had no luck finding a ride, carrying her wig in her hand she set off walking the long eight miles home. Daniel had left the party and was driving along the road when he spotted her and offered her a ride. She got in.
VICTIM: CHELSEA BRUCK KISS OF DEATH Chelsea grew up in a small town, loved parties and spent weeks making her Halloween costume. Among the thousand party goers Chelsea and her friends got separated. Without a ride she started walking. Chelsea never made it home.
