PODCAST EXCERPT Tina was funny and loved jokes. In the fall of 1983 she began her freshman year at Foothill High in Pleasanton. Some of her classmates didn’t appreciate her sense of humour. As the lunch bell rang, a group of girls threw rocks at her and called her names, then told her they were going to kick her butt after school. That morning, a sophomore brought alcohol to school. Sixteen-year-old Steven Carlson wasn’t part of the in-crowd. They coaxed him into a large dumpster filled with trash. Steven screamed to be let out. The guys just laughed. A teacher unlocked the dumpster. Steven went home. Outraged, he could still hear the guys laughing at him. He strode in to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. The two who had been victims of bullying, passed each other on the path. Now one of them would turn in to a bully.
VICTIM: TINA FAELZ HUMOUR, SARCASM AND A SMILE Tina was only 14 when she was bullied at school. That same day 16- year-old Steven was also bullied. On the way home the victims crossed paths. Then one of them lashed out in anger and rage. And the other one was left dead.
