PODCAST EXCERPT Celeste grew up in a low-income housing project in Philadelphia. She left home and headed east coast travelling three thousand miles to California. There she managed to carve out a life for herself and attended community college. In December 1991, Celeste who was working as a janitor was fired for stealing cheques. She turned in her set of master keys used to access the business she'd worked at, but unknown to them she had made copies. Celeste sunk in to a deep depression and was under extreme pressure. She came up with a plan to rob a place where she had worked. After everyone left for the day she snuck in the back entrance. She rifled through the offices and found a .357 magnum revolver. Nine days later she used one of the keys, armed herself with the loaded 357 and drove to San Carlos.
